This Toyota Pickup (N80/90/100/110 1989-1997) got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1990 Toyota Hilux is a left-hand-drive double cab pickup that was imported from Costa Rica to the US and underwent a cosmetic refurbishment before being acquired by the seller in February 2021. It is finished in white over two-tone brown vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 2.2-liter 4Y inline-four linked to a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs, 15″ steel wheels, a bull bar, a headache rack, a tonneau cover, and air conditioning. Work performed in September 2023 is said to have included replacing the air conditioning compressor, performing an oil change, and replacing various bushings. This Hilux shows 406k kilometers (~252k miles) and is now offered at no reserve with a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.
The truck was finished from the factory in white (033) and was reportedly repainted under previous ownership. Exterior details include aftermarket headlights, a front bull bar, a “TEQ” front emblem, a headache rack, a Hilux-branded tonneau cover, a spray-on bedliner, and bedside tie-downs. Gray-finished 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 31×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs as well as a solid front axle, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners. The seller reports various bushings were replaced and an alignment was performed in September 2023.
The refreshed cab features two rows of bench seats upholstered in two-tone brown vinyl that are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. An all-weather mat lines the floorboards, and the truck is equipped with air conditioning and wind-up front windows. The seller states a connector plug is missing from the radio along with the balance and fade control knob. The rear windows do not roll down and are missing cranks.
The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and frames a 160-km/h speedometer as well as supplementary gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 406k kilometers (~252k miles), approximately 5k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 2.2-liter 4Y inline-four breathes through a single carburetor. The seller notes service performed in September 2023 involved an oil change and an air conditioning system recharge as well as replacement of the air conditioning compressor.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Corrosion is present on underside components, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery.
